Canada & UK Maps Are Here
Crowdsourced & accurate maps are now available in Canada and the UK
Hey friend,
Stetson here.
Have you ever wondered what carrier has the best coverage in Canada or the UK?
Is it Bell, Rogers, Telus, or Videotron in Canada?
Or EE, O2, Three, or Vodafone in the UK?
Today, I am excited to share CoverageMap.com is officially launching in Canada and the UK, empowering Canadians and Brits with crowdsourced maps of cellular networks!
This makes it easy to figure out which network is best in a given area.
Watch the official launch video below!
7 Map Features You’ll Love
Here are 7 features of the crowdsourced speed test map that you’ll love:
1. Best Carrier View

Easily see which carrier is best in a given area with the Best Carrier view.
Each square is colored by the carrier with the best performance in that area.
In the UK, it looks like EE may be the overall best network nationwide. Of course, results become more detailed as you zoom in, and different networks will be better in certain areas.
2. Street-Level Detail

Zoom all the way in to see squares just 0.1km* in size. This lets you compare performance block-by-block.
*the 0.1km squares require the CoverageMap Pro subscription.
3. Speed Filter

Have an important Zoom call that requires at least 10 Mbps down and 10 Mbps up?
Use the speed filter to see exactly what areas meet your minimum bandwidth requirements.
4. Best, Average, and Median Performance

Toggle between best, average, and median performance, for download speeds, upload speeds, and latency.
5. Rich Data in Every Square

Click or tap on any square to see a full breakdown of performance reported by real users in that area.
6. 3D View

Explore an epic 3D view of cellular coverage.
Here, the height of the rectangular prisms corresponds with the download speeds. The faster the speeds, the taller the prisms.
The 3D view is an awesome way to see where fast speeds are located in your city.
7. Your Own Personal Map

Use the “Show My Tests Only” filter to see a map of just your speed tests.
This is an great way to remember where you’ve been, what networks you’ve tested, and what speeds you’ve gotten.
How Can I Contribute?
CoverageMap.com uses crowdsourced data to build accurate coverage maps.
Wondering how you can contribute?
Then, turn off Wi-Fi, make sure you’re on a cellular connection, and run a speed test.
That’s it!
Each test you run will instantly show up on the map in real-time.
Plus, you can upload existing tests you’ve taken on popular speed testing apps, such as Ookla Speedtest, nPerf, or SpeedSmart.
Simply export the CSV file and share it directly to the Coverage Map app.
Or, export the CSV file and upload it on a computer using the desktop website.
Here’s a video on how to do it:
More Countries Coming Soon!
The launch of CoverageMap.com in Canada and the UK marks the start of our international expansion.
We could not be more excited to bring crowdsourced cellular coverage maps to our neighbors in Canada and our friends across the pond in the UK.
And we cannot wait to launch in more countries before the end of this year!
What country should we launch in next?
Enjoy the new maps of Canada and the UK!
Thanks,
Stetson
P.S. - Download the free Coverage Map app for iPhone or Android! Even if your country isn’t launched just yet, you can still run speed tests. Then, once we do launch in your country, all of your tests will instantly be mapped :)
